Zinoro 1E based on BMW X1 revealed

BMW Brilliance has unveiled the BMW X1-based Zinoro 1E at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

The Zinoro 1E is the first product of the company’s new brand and first e-drive SAV built in China and the first NEV (short for: new energy vehicle) from a Chinese premium manufacture.

Zinoro 1E uses 3 battery packs with lithium iron phosphate cell chemistry and BMW Brilliance likes to point out that safety is considered throughout battery development.

The battery management system monitors the working conditions of the battery in real time and responds to unusual situations within 30 milliseconds by cutting the connections with the electronic devices so as to make sure no component is with electricity.

Power comes from 170bhp electric engine with 250Nm of torque and the lithium battery enables the E1 to travel up to 93 miles on a full charge. Charging of the battery takes around 7.5 hours when using wallbox of 16A.

The engine is at the rear and the 3 battery packs are located at the front, the centre and the rear, offering low gravity and almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

The 1E is nicely equipped and comes with navigation system, Bluetooth, Auto A/C, Multi-function leather steering wheel, Rain sensor, seat heating for driver and front passenger and electric seat memory for the driver’s seat.

Safety features include ESP, PSS, and Tire Pressure Monitor.

According to BMW Brilliance, Zinoro 1E is not aiming at sales volume of today. Instead, the goal is to build the ZINORO brand image and the E1 will be available solely in rental mode for brand promotion.
