Former Caterham Cars CEO Ansar Ali and COO Mark Edwards recently formed a new venture called Zenos Cars, and their first car, the lightweight E10 made its public debut yesterday at Autosport International.
The road legal and track-focused, open-top, two seater is powered by a mid-mounted Ford-sourced 200bhp engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed manual.
200bhp is not a whole lot, but thanks to a kerb weight of just 650kg, the E10 accelerates from 0-62mph in less than 5 seconds on its way to an estimated top speed of 135mph. Such light weight is possible thanks to a carbon fibre tub and aluminium construction.
A limited slip differential is also available.
“It’s been a huge day for Zenos Cars,” co-founder Ali said. “As a major event for the UK sports car industry, Autosport International is a great place to make the E10’s presence known. We’re really glad to be here, and hopefully by the end of the four days more people will be familiar with the Zenos brand.
The E10 will be available from £24,995 going against the likes of Ariel Atom, different Caterham models and KTM X-Box.
