Watch Revo tuned Volkswagen T5 Transporter Van lap Nürburgring in less than 10 minutes

Volkswagen tuner Revo has set a new record for a commercial vehicle lap of the Nürburgring with their modified VW T5 Transport Van delivering 220bhp, smashing the famous lap set by Sabine Schmitz in a Ford Transit van on the Top Gear TV Show.

The record set by Sabine was some 10 minutes and 8 seconds – a very impressive time for a van on the extreme Nürburgring.

To beat Sabine’s record, Revo took a Volkswagen T5 2.0 Twin Turbo Diesel, which received a bespoke ECU remap, Milltek ‘turbo-back’ exhaust system, Forge intercooler/oil cooler combination, BILSTEIN’s B14 coilover kit, lightweight Team Dynamics wheels wrapped with Direzza tyres from Dunlop.

The T5 was driven by seasoned Nordschleife veteran Dale Lomas who managed to complete a full lap in 9:57.36 seconds.

See the on-board video below to see how Dale drives the T5 around the extreme Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
