Watch Porsche 918 Spyder hot weather testing in Nevada [video]

Porsche has released a new video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing hot weather testing in Nevada.

In the final months of shakedown tests, the 918 Spyder prototypes are soon approaching 1 million miles.

The 918 Spyder features an innovative 887 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a mid-mounted 4.6-litre V8 delivering 608 hp and a hybrid module on rear axle producing 115 kW and electric motor on front axle another 95 kW.

0-62 mph comes in just 2.8 seconds, 0-186 mph in 23.0 seconds and the top speed is 211 mph (93 mph in purely EV mode with a range up to 18 miles).

The production will start later this year with prices start from 781,155 EUR (£659,000).
