Volkswagen Unveils Race Touareg 3 Qatar And Touareg Gold Edition In Qatar

In addition to Formula XL1 Concept, Volkswagen has revealed two more concepts based on the Touareg SUV at the Qatar Motor Show.

The first one is a Race Touareg 3 Qatar, a street-legal version of the Race Touareg 3 that recently won the Dakar Rally. Exterior highlights are gold-coloured BBS wheels and “Race Touareg” wording in gold. Under the bonnet is the same 306bhp 2.5 litre TDI that powers the rally spec version.

Interior is completely redesigned, and features Recaro race seats upholstered in Nubuk and perforated Nappa leather. Interior designers have also upholstered the seat side supports and the door trim panels with Nubuk leather in “Black” and “Pure Grey,” while the centre seat panels are made from perforated Nappa leather in “Titan Black.”

Additional accents include the two-tone seams and silver piping on the seat covers and safety-related items painted in “Tornado Red.”

The Touareg Gold Edition, as you already guessed, features certain areas upgraded with 24-carat gold. Outside we have gold finished 22-inch wheels, roof rails, protective guard strips, window frames, mirror caps and more.

Inside, 24-carat gold also adorns many of the car’s accents and switches complemented with an Alcantara headliner, seats covered in Nappa leather, dashboard trimmed in a natural brown leather, and Walnut Burr accents in the centre console.
