Volkswagen GRC Beetle with 560+ horsepower and all-wheel drive is ready for rallycross action

Volkswagen has unveiled a very wild GRC Beetle at the Chicago Auto Show with Andretti Autosport, as part of the launch of the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team.

The team will run two cars in the 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross series. The teams will start with Volkswagen Polo rallycross cars (the same vehicles that won the 2013 WRC) and later will switch to the hit GRC Beetle you see here.

The racing Beetle will make its debut at the Summer X Games in Austin, TX. Drivers include Tanner Foust in the Rockstar Energy Beetle (pictured here) and Scott Speed in 7 UP-liveried car.

The highly modified Beetle features a full body kit with a huge rear spoiler, centre exhaust tips, new bumpers, fenders and the turbocharged TSI engine is tuned to produce more than 560 bhp. All this power is sent to the road via all-wheel drive system.
