Video: 25 Years of BMW M3

It all started in August 1985 with the fastest 3 Series BMW of all times. The first M3 was powered by a 2.3-litre I4 engine that produced 195bhp. The current M3 develops 414bhp from a 4.0-litre V8.

BMW M3 models have been derived from the E30, E36, E46 and E90/E92/E93 3-Series, and sold with coupé, sedan and convertible body styles.

In the video below BMW gives a quick overview of the M3 sports car and how it all got started.
