Track-Only Ferrari LaFerrari XX prototype spied on the Nürburgring

Ferrari LaFerrari is an amazing piece of engineering. One of the most expensive and fastest hypercars currently in production it is limited to just 499 units, priced from around £1 Million. Want one? You are already late as all cars are sold!

What we have here is the hardcore track-only version of the LaFerrari testing on the Nürburgring.

Details are limited, but according to our photographer, the car sounded incredibly loud and when hand timed, it lapped the Nordschleife on Pirelli Tyres in just 6 minutes and 35 seconds.

The prototype looks to have an unpainted carbon-fibre body and you can also see new lighter race-spec door windows. The production model will also get new aerodynamic parts when it arrives in early 2015.

The head of Ferrari’s Sporting Activity Department, Antonello Coletta, has already confirmed that a track-only LaFerrari XX is in development and they hope to have it on the circuit in January or February of next year.

The 950bhp hybrid drivetrain that combines a 6.3-litre V12 and an electric motor will likely stay unchanged, and according to Coletta engineers will be focusing on the handling of the car as the track-only LaFerrari XX requires completely different settings.
