This is Porsche 911's Alter Ego from the past, the rally winning 953 [video]

Porsche has released a video called “Porsche 911’s Alter Ego”, where seven-time Pikes Peak Champion Jeff Zwart discusses and drives the Porsche Museum’s Paris-Dakar winning Type 953.

The 953 was the all-wheel-drive 911 precursor to the legendary 959 – one of the most iconic supercars of the 80s.

Last month reports surfaced that Porsche is developing an off-road inspired 911 Safari concept for the Beijing Motor Show.

The 911 Safari off-road concept is reportedly based on the 400bhp 911 Carrera 4S and comes with raised suspension, underbody cladding, bigger tyres and few exterior updates to distinguish it from the standard model.

This new video might be just a coincidence or a clever marketing…
