Street-legal Lotus Elise S Cup revealed - a road-going variant of the Elise S Cup R

Roughly a year ago Lotus unveiled the track-only Elise S Cup R and now after its first season has announced a street-legal version of the Elise S Cup R dubbed Elise S Cup.

The Elise S Cup is almost identical to the track-only version, featuring the same aerodynamics as the ‘R’ version, delivering a significantly enhanced dynamic performance over the standard Elise S.

Thanks to a unique front splitter and winglets, barge boards, rear diffuser, big rear wing and a fixed roof, the car creates 66kg of downforce at 100mph and 125kg of downforce at top speed. As a result, the Elise S Cup laps the Lotus test track 3 seconds faster than the standard Elise S.

Power comes from a supercharged 217bhp 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission, taking the 932kg car from 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds, on to a top speed of 140mph.

The Elise S Cup also comes with competition spec roll hoop, meaning you can safely take it to the track after work.

All this is priced from €47,500 plus tax and delivery.
