Spy Shots: Audi RS7 Sportback Test Mule?
Very likely we are looking here at one of the first test mules for the Audi RS7 Sportback. The car has quad exhaust pipes, just like all S-models, but it could be that Audi engineers are playing little tricks on us, as at closer inspection you can see huge brakes on the front and rear. None of the S7 Sportback prototypes spotted before have featured such massive brakes. The mule also has fog lights removed so that the engine can get more air.
The production version of the RS7 Sportback will have one oval exhaust pipe on each side and also more aggressive front and wider fenders. Compared to the standard model it will also sit lower to the ground.
Nothing is official at this point, but the latest rumors report that the RS7 Sportback will be powered by a twin-turbo V8 that produces close to 600bhp. Earlier rumors also talked about a Lamborghini sourced V10 with around 600bhp.
The RS7 Sportback is expected to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, and it will go against the likes of Mercedes CLS 63 AMG, Porsche Panamera Turbo, Aston Martin Rapide and the upcoming new BMW M5.
