Smart Thinking: Charity Car Calendar
Smart has been thinking inside the box with its new Christmas gift that will keep on giving. How so? Well, Smart has its own social website, at www.destinationsmart.co.uk Someone bright at Smart thought that it’d be good if this site’s members were to submit evocative and seasonal images for a new, fund-raising calendar.
Judges from the Smart UK team made their selection of 12 images from a vast array. The finalists, from Bournemouth to Belfast, submitted pictures of a variety of Smart cars, from the fortwo, roadster and special edition camps. The result is a winning combination of stylish models, past and present.
The October picture gives a clue to the calendar’s raison d’etre. It’s of a Smart fortwo Pink Passion Edition model and it’s there for a reason. It’s present to coincide with the Breast Cancer campaign’s ‘Wear It Pink’ month.
Yes, the publication of the Smart Calendar 2011 is also an altruistic exercise. All profits from it will go to the Breast Cancer campaign. Martine Edgell, the Community Manager of destinmationsmart.co.uk, said, “If people are deliberating what to buy the smart enthusiast in their life for Christmas, the calendar could be the ideal stocking filler.” She added, “What’s more, we hope that profits from the calendar will generate much needed funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity that we are already supporting with a donation of £10,000 from total sales of the recently-launched smart fortwo pink passion model.
The 2011 smart calendar costs a mere £5, can stand on a desk or hang on a wall, and can be ordered now on the official smart website – www.thesmart.co.uk/calendar
