Sebastian Vettel testing Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge prototype with GT-R power [video]

Infiniti has released a short new video, showing the Q50 Eau Rouge prototype testing with Sebastian Vettel behind the steering wheel.

The Q50 Eau Rouge concept debuted first at the Detroit Auto Show in January and last month in Geneva with a modified engine from Nissan GT-R’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 tuned to 560bhp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

Details are limited, but Infiniti mentions the engine in the prototype produces 553bhp (560hp) not 560bhp (568hp) as in the concept, but that’s still plenty to take on the BMW M5, Mercedes E 63 AMG and Audi RS 6.

The four time Formula One world champion tested the 560bhp high performance sports saloon at the Millbrook Proving Ground automotive testing facility in UK, putting the prototype through a “challenging series of performance, handling and precision driving evaluations”.

Infiniti says that Vettel’s invaluable feedback will be engineered into the next stages of the prototype’s extensive development program – testing components, packaging and viability.

This short promo video does reveal much, but we can hear the twin-turbo V6 a little bit.
