Report: Bentley's entry-level coupe could be based on the Audi R8

Earlier this month, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer confirmed the automaker is considering a fifth model, that is rumoured to be a a new entry-level coupe.

New details/rumours are out and according to Autocar, the new model would recall the mid-engined, Lamborghini-based Hunaudiéres concept from the 1999 Geneva Motor Show.

Under the skin the new model would be based on the Audi R8 with a very different exterior look and revised W12 in place of the V10. Earlier rumours suggested a twin-turbo V8, which would be more suitable in our opinion. Even a hybridized V6 has been rumoured so far.

The new car has not been green-lighted for development yet and it is being considered alongside another model that would slot between the Continental GT and Mulsanne.
