Report: Alfa Romeo 4C laps the Nürburgring in 8:04

The Alfa Romeo 4C is now on sale and it is safe to say that everyone who has reviewed the car is excited about it.

According to Quattroruote, the 4C recently lapped the Nürburgring race track in eight minutes and four seconds.

Not bad for a small compact sports car. The time of 8:04 makes the 4C faster than the 2007 BMW M3 or Porsche Boxster S.

The 4C is powered by a turbocharged 240bhp 1.75-litre four-cylinder engine with 350 Nm of torque, good for a 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and a speed of 160 mph.

A kerb weight is just 895kg thanks to lightweight materials like carbon fibre, aluminum, SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) and PUR-RIM (injected polyurethane).

The current lap record for production car is 6:57 and belongs to the Porsche 918 Spyder.
