Quick facts and figures about the taxi and car hire industry (infographic)

Taxi and private hire industry is quite big. There are close to 300,000 people in this industry in UK. People make a good living as taxi drivers with its own cons and pros. Cabdirect has put together a very informative infographic, revealing some very interesting details about the industry.

Like did you know that King Charles I is the one who introduced taxis to London in 1636 and today 58% of taxis in England and Wales are wheelchair accessible?

Also it shouldn’t come as a surprise that fewer than 2% of cabbies are woman. I don’t think I have ever seen one in London.

Enjoy the quick overview below.
