Prefix reveals their SRT Viper convertible conversion dubbed Medusa

Current 5th generation SRT Viper is only available as a coupe, while the previous one was also offered as a roadster.

US coachbuilder Prefix has a solution for those who want to turn their current generation Viper into a full convertible.

The special conversion is called Medusa and initially just 10 vehicles will be built.

Based on the standard SRT Viper, the Medusa features a retractable soft top and a modified rear end to accommodate the roof system.

The conversion looks very professional and the car looks like it came straight out of factory.

Under the bonnet remains a stock 640bhp 8.4-litre V10 with 600 lb-ft of torque linked to a six-speed manual, taking the coupe from 0-60mph in low 3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 206mph. Even though the convertible is likely a bit heavier, the performance shouldn’t be much different to that of the standard coupe.

The Medusa costs $35,000 (£20,500) + standard SRT Viper.
