Porsche Cayman GT4 reportedly getting a 450bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo boxer engine

A hot track oriented Porsche Cayman that will likely use a GT4 moniker (the first Porsche to use GT4 badge) has been testing for some time with a more aggressive body and a huge rear spoiler.

The current range topping Cayman is the GTS model with a 3.4-litre flat six engine delivering 335bhp. So what’s in the hot Cayman GT4 model?

According to Car Magazine, the Cayman GT4 will be the first factory turbocharged Cayman using a flat-six 3.8-litre twin-turbo boxer engine producing around 450bhp. That’s basically the same engine as in the 911 Turbo, just detuned.

Other changes compared to the more standard Cayman will include new brakes, updated suspension, centrally-mounted dual exhaust pipes, new unique alloy wheels and a more stripped interior with bucket seats.

The Cayman GT4 is expected to debut later this year.
