Porsche 918 Spyder: Engine Technology in detail [video]

Porsche has released a new promo video highlighting the plug-in hybrid powertrain in the 918 Spyder.

The new hybrid supercar is the quickest car with global road homologation to lap the 12.8 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife in just six minutes and 57 seconds.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system combining a naturally-aspirated 600bhp 4.6-litre V8 and two electric motors providing another 282bhp, one mounted on the front axle while the other sits at the rear one. Combined power output is 875bhp and 917Nm of torque.

The 918 Spyder is equipped with 5 driving modes for 3 motors, that are controlled via an intelligent management system. Learn more in the video below.
