Pininfarina Bluecar EV Confirmed For Production

Pininfarina has signed an agreement with Cecomp and Bollore to build 4,000 electric Bluecars for Autolib car sharing service in France.

The new car sharing service will be operational in October 2011 in Paris and in 40 other municipalities in the Île-de-France district.

No details were released about Bluecar’s specifications. The concept version that was first shown at the 2008 Paris Motor Show featured a Lithium Metal Polymer battery pack with a range of up to 155 miles, 0-37mph time in 6.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 80mph.
