Peugeot RCZ R revealed ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed

Peugeot has unveiled the hot RCZ R ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week.

Its new THP engine produces an impressive 270bhp from its 1.6-litre displacement, while emitting just 145g/km of CO2. With 270bhp, the RCZ R is the most powerful production Peugeot ever. Weighing at 1280kg, the RCZ R does 0-62 mph in less than six seconds.

In addition to more power the RCZ R is equipped with a Torsen differential for the promise of grip efficiency and dynamic sensations at a very high level. The RCZ R is also lowered by 10mm riding on 19 inch alloys.

Visual and aerodynamic updates over the standard RCZ include new rear diffuser, two chromed exhaust pipes, fixed rear spoiler, and black roof. Exterior colours available include Nera Black, Moroccan Red, Opal White and Mercury Grey.

Interior features Nappa/Alcantara-wrapped bucket seats, smaller steering wheel and gearshift lever with aluminum knob.

The RCZ R will go on sale early in 2014.
