Peugeot 208 GTi Revealed, Market Launch Spring 2013

Peugeot has unveiled the new 208 GTi, bringing back the GTi badge we last saw on the iconic 205 GTi.

The 208 GTi will be available only as a three-door model, featuring a widened track by 10mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. There is also a new more aggressive front bumper, a unique grille, body sills and wing extensions. The legendary GTi badge sits on the C-pillar, just as it did on the iconic 205 GTi.

The 208 GTi is also easily recognizable during the night thanks to new “cat’s eye” light pattern, that is refined by new halogen headlamps, equipped with a latest generation light guide.

When you open the door you will notice aluminium sill stamped with the Peugeot name. You are also greeted with black leather-and-cloth seats with red stitching, dials with red surrounds, door trims, that are finished in black and red and aluminium pedal bracket and footrest.

The 208 GTi is powered by a 197bhp 1.6-litre turbo mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, enabling it to reach0-62mph in less than seven seconds.

The new 208 GTi will arrive in UK showrooms next spring and is expected to cost around £18,000.
