Peugeot 2008 DKR revealed for 2015 Dakar Rally [video]

Last year Peugeot smashed the Pikes Peak Hillclimb record with their 208 T16 Pikes Peak race car.

Next year Peugeot is making a comeback after 25 years to the Dakar Rally with this aggressive 2008 DKR, based on the street going 2008.

Even though Peugeot says the 2008 DKR carries over the road car’s styling cues it does look very different, sharing just a handful of parts with the road car. The rear doors are gone and it rides on massive 94cm off-road Michelin tyres.

It is one mean looking race car with an aggressive look that is even more emphasised with the black-grey exterior.

What’s under the bonnet remains a secret and will be revealed closer to the legendary race.

This purpose-designed machine will be driven by Carlos Sainz and Cyril Despres on next January’s Dakar.
