Oops! Rowan Atkinson Crashes McLaren F1 In Peterborough

If you enjoyed watching British actor and pretty mean gentleman racing driver Rowan Atkinson as the Top Gear Star In A Reasonably Priced Car, then then you may be uncomfortable hearing that a collision this week saw the Mr Bean and BlackAdder hero admitted to hospital. If you’re not bothered by his acting but love cars, worse news still — it was in his McLaren F1.

Looks like a massive smash in heavy rain on the A650 in Cambridgeshire led to a monumental accident, as the picture shows. Police, ambulance and the fire service were needed to get Atkinson out. He has broken a shoulder but is now home from hospital.

And on the phone to his insurance company. The car will effectively need a rebuild from scratch, which will cost over £1million.

The actor has owned the car since 1997 and has been involved in a minor shunt before, but it was successfully repaired. This will be a bigger job…
