On-board video of the Porsche 918 Spyder in Texas at Circuit of the Americas

Porsche has released an on-board video of the 918 Spyder hybrid supercar in Austin, Texas at Circuit of the Americas, driven by Porsche works driver Patrick Long.

Patrick exits the pit lane in quiet electric mode and once he sets it in sport hybrid mode, the action starts. At the back straight he presses the “hot-lap” button hitting 170mph.

The 918 Spyder with 887bhp continues to be the quickest car with global road homologation to lap the 12.8 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife in six minutes and 57 seconds. McLaren never released their time for the P1, which was reportedly well below 7 minutes and Ferrari is also staying quiet with lap times, though they have been on the ‘Ring with the LaFerrari dozens of times.
