Official: Alfa Romeo 4C completes a lap of the Nordschleife in 8:04

Alfa Romeo has officially confirmed a report, which emerged earlier this month that the 4C has completed a lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 8 minutes 04 seconds.

This is a very impressive time, making the 4C fastest car on the ‘Ring with engines producing less than 250hp. As a reminder the current record of 6:57 belongs to Porsche 918 Spyder.

For the record run, the 4C was fitted with special road legal Pirelli Zero Trofeo tyres and behind the wheel was Nordschleife expert Horst von Saurma.

The 4C is motivated by a new 240bhp 1.75-litre Turbo Petrol, taking the 895kg sports car from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of 160mph.
