Next Vauxhall Astra VXR Shows Its Rear Lights
Here are the latest spy photos of Vauxhall’s next Astra VXR(also known as Opel Astra OPC in rest of the Europe) testing in the snowy Sweden. The body still wears temporary panels, but we can well see the overall design and also the shape of the lights.
The Astra VXR is powered by a direct-injection turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol engine that produces around 300bhp, with power sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Part of the package is also an electronic limited differential and HyPerStrut front suspension layout from Insignia VXR with FlexRide adaptive damping system.
World debut of the new Astra VXR/OPC is at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. In UK, the new hot hatch will arrive in early 2012, taking on the likes of Renaultsport Megane 250 and the forthcoming four-cylinder Ford Focus ST.
