The new Peugeot 308 is already available as a five-door hatch, with prices starting from £14,495. A more potent 308 GTI is already also in development with around 200bhp. A range topping 308 R is also rumoured with an impressive 270bhp from a 1.6-litre turbo four, just like the concept, which was shown earlier this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
A saloon is also already in development and is expected to debut in the first half of 2014.
The 308 range is also expected to include a two-door convertible just like the previous generation. Even though we haven’t seen any prototypes testing yet a talented Theophilus Chin has created a digital version of the second-generation Peugeot 308 Convertible/CC.
While nothing is official, Theophilus believes the new model should come with a soft top, instead of the retractable metal roof of the first-generation model as the hard top just isn’t reliable, practical or aesthetically pleasing.
