Here we have our first spy shots of the next generation Cadillac CTS-V prototype, caught winter testing in Michigan, U.S. without the usual heavy vinyl camouflage, revealing a new grille design, that is most likely the new face of future V models.
It is very unlikely that engineers have created an all-new vertical-bar grille just for the prototype so we are pretty sure this is the new face of future V models, to distinguish them more from the standard models.
We can also see big air intakes, power dome bonnet and big round quad exhausts at the rear.
Under the bonnet is most likely an updated supercharged 6.2-litre V8, that in the outgoing model produces already an impressive 555bhp and 551 lb-ft of torque. We wouldn’t be surprised if the new CTS-V packs close to 600bhp.
The test car also shows Michelin Pilot Super Sports tyres.
The new CTS-V is expected to debut in late 2014 or in early 2015.
The standard CTS saloon debuted in early 2013 at the New York Auto Show and will go on sale in Europe “in early 2014”.
