New Volkswagen Golf GTD now available to order, priced from £25,285

Following its debut last month at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Volkswagen Golf GTD is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting at £25,285. That’s £310 more than the previous model.

The new GTD is powered by a 181bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 380Nm of torque (up by30Nm compared to the previous model). 0-62mph takes 7.5 seconds, while the top speed is 142 mph. What really impresses is the fuel economy. The new Golf GTD can drive up to 67.3 miles with just one gallon of fuel with CO2 emissions of only 109 g/km, when equipped with the six-speed manual. Six-speed DSG is optional delivering 62.8 mpg.

Visual differences compared to the standard model include smoked LED rear lights with LED licence plate illumination, chrome dual tailpipes, 18-inch ‘Nogaro’ alloy wheels, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a large roof spoiler.

Interior features tartan ‘Jacara Grey’ sports seats, a black roof lining, sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, GTD specific gear lever and instrument cluster.

Standard equipment list is impressive and including progressive steering, white ambience lighting, 2Zone climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system with DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.
