New Vauxhall VXR8 Revealed, Priced at £49,500

New Vauxhall VXR8 is priced at £49,500 and available to order later this month through just six highly specialist VXR dealers. The new VXR8 is based on the Australian Holden Commodore E3 GTS.

In the heart of new VXR8 is a fourth generation 6.2-litre LS3 unit with 425bhp and 406 lb ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear axle via either a six-speed manual or auto transmission. 0-60mph comes in 4.9 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited at 155mph.

Exterior highlights are a new matt black ‘Shockwave’ grille, LED daytime running lights, new wing-vents, new ‘Superflow’ rear spoiler, LED tail lamps and twin exhaust tips.

As with the previous model, the new VXR8’s race-bred chassis uses MacPherson struts/progressive rate coil springs at the front and a multi-link independent set-up at the rear, but adds Magnetic Ride Control, a suspension system which adapts up to 1000 times a seconds to road conditions and driver inputs.

Inside, full leather trim is standard, as well as Bluetooth, USB inputs, iPod support and a colour touchscreen. Other upgrades include a HSV Performance Seats, new center stack, new instrument cluster and surround.
