New Vauxhall VXR8 GTS gets a supercharged 576bhp 6.2-litre V8

Watch out BMW M5 & Mercedes E63 AMG! Vauxhall has unveiled a new VXR8 GTS that gains 150bhp and 140lb ft of torque compared to the outgoing model.

The supercharged 6.2-litre V8 driving the rear wheels packs 576bhp and 545 lb ft of torque. It is the same engine found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Vauxhall has not revealed performance numbers yet, but bear in mind that even the naturally-aspirated VXR8 with 150bhp less power achieved a 0-60mph time in 4.9 seconds and had limited top speed of 155mph.

The VXR8 GTS also gets a new front-end design featuring twin-nostril grille and a new fascia, bold graphics, 20-inch ‘Blade’ forged alloys, LED tail lamps, rear spoiler with black accents and a rear diffuser that houses quad exhaust outlets finished in shadow chrome.

Interior has a more premium look and feel with an upgraded instrument panel with suede-style inserts, a new instrument cluster, gauges, centre console, appliques and door trims.

The Australian “born” VXR8 GTS is priced from £54,999(£5k more than the outgoing model).
