Porsche’s new 911 (991) has been launched in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants as the standard Carrera (4) and Carrera (4)S. Soon the higher performance versions will follow including the new GT3 that was caught next to the current GT3 (997).
This is a good comparison, showing how evolutionary the 911 design is, when compared to the outgoing model.
The new 911 GT3 is expected to be lighter compared to the 997 model and of course more powerful. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat six with around 470bhp. PDK transmission is also part of the package and reportedly there won’t be a manual option. We’ll see soon.
World debut is very likely at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November with sales starting in early 2013.
