New Peugeot 308 Spied Cold Weather Testing in the Arctic

Here we have the latest spy shots of the next-generation Peugeot 308, which will be launched end of 2013. We showed you the new 308 prototype first back in August, when it was caught hot weather testing in Spain.

This time engineers are at the Arctic Circle in Sweden, where the new 308 is put into test at extremely cold temperatures on roads covered with ice and snow.

The prototype is still heavily disguised, though we do get a better view of the front and rear lights.

The new 308 will be available with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines. A hybrid model is also expected. In addition to a five-and three door hatchbacks, a stretched Touring Wagon and a 308 CC hardtop convertible will be launched as well.

Some sources claim Peugeot will continue to use the 308 name/numbering, some say it will be called 309. Either way the new car will be a very important product for Peugeot and hopefully does better than the outgoing 308.

Pubic debut is l reportedly at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
