New Mercedes-Benz S-Class enters production, six variants officially confirmed

The new Mercedes S-Class production has started at the company’s plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. On sale now with prices starting from £79,789.50, the S-Class is initially available as a short wheelbase and extended wheelbase model.

For the first time Mercedes has confirmed that there will be in total six models.. “there will be now three new models in addition to the short-wheelbase and extended wheelbase variants and the S-Class coupé.”

That’s a confirmation that the new CL will be called S-Class Coupe, two other new models of three are S-Class Convertible and S-Class Pullman that we have seen both in testing already. The third one remains a mystery, but is most likely another extended wheelbase higher spec model.

For full details about the new S-Class production and main technologies see the press release below.
