New Honda Civic Type R Confirmed For 2015

Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has confirmed that a new Civic Type R for Europe will arrive in 2015. Other new models to arrive in the near future include a new fuel cell electric model, new NSX, new super sports motorcycle based on MotoGP machines and a compact SUV.

With the new Civic Type R Honda will aim to become the fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle on the Nürburgring race course. Currently the fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle on the Nürburgring course is the Renault Megane 265 Trophy with a time of 8 min 7.9 seconds.

Honda is also developing a new more powerful two-motor hybrid system for mid-size vehicles and a high output 3-motor hybrid system called the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive), that will focus on driving performance and will be applied to the new NSX.
