Ford has announced pricing for the third-generation Focus, which will go on sale in March 2011. New Focus will be available only as a five-door hatch from the start, with an estate version following in September.
The entry level Ford Focus Edge, is priced from £15,995 for the 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine and £16,995 for the 94bhp 1.6-litre TDCi.
Standard equipment across the range includes DAB digital radio, Torque Vectoring Control system, Thatcham Category 1 alarm, Bluetooth, front, side and curtain airbags, Isoffix child seat attachment, voice control and USB connectivity.
Mark Simpson, Ford of Britain marketing director, said: “Ford Focus set the class benchmark for ride and handling at launch in 1998 and the all-new model will set another new standard in the segment – this time for next-generation features and smart technology.
The Ford Zetec model starts at £16,995 for the 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine, and adds 16-inch alloy wheels, Quickclear heated front windscreen and door mirrors, leather steering wheel, front fog lamps and sports-style seats.
The Titanium series is priced from £18,745 for the 123bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine, and comes with supplementary features including keyless start, dual electronic automatic temperature control, Hill Start Assist (HSA), rain-sensing front wipers, automatic headlamps, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, cruise control with speed limiter, premium Sony audio and Ford’s tyre deflation detection system.
Top of the range Titanium X is priced from £21,245 for the 148bhp 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which comes with partial leather trim, heated front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, Active Park Assist, Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED day running lights, headlamp jet wash, power driver’s seat and power-fold mirrors.
If the standard list is not enough then you can choose the Option package, which offers Low Speed Safety System, Lane Keeping Aid, Blind Spot Information System. and a Sony DAB Navigation which incorporates rear-view camera.
The full engine line-up includes three 1.6-litre petrol engines with 104bhp, 123bhp and 148bhp. On the diesel side Ford offers 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre units with 94bhp, 113bhp, 138bhp and 161bhp.
The 1.6-litre TDCI ans 1.6-litre Ecoboost comes with auto start-stop as standard. All engines are mated to a six speed manual transmission, while the 2.0-litre engine can be ordered with an optionaldual-clutch PowerShift automatic.
