New Bentley Mulsanne Speed revealed with 530bhp and a top speed of 190mph

Bentley has unveiled a new Mulsanne Speed, that the automaker calls “the world’s fastest ultra-luxury driving experience”.

The new flagship model is powered by a re-engineered 530bhp 6.75-litre V8 twin-turbo engine with 1,100Nm of torque linked to a recalibrated gearbox, taking the big luxury saloon from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190mph.

The extra performance is also matched by markedly improved efficiency; a 13% gain means a range with a full tank is extended by 50 miles.

The Mulsanne Speed also comes with an even more driver-focused Sport suspension. The new Sport mode stiffens the all-round air suspension for improved body control and adjusts the steering dynamics for greater feedback and accuracy.

The new Speed model is visually distinguished from the more standard model with a dark tint finish on stainless steel matrix grilles. The headlights show the same dark tint application, while the taillights are similarly finished with a dark tint.

At the rear are twin rifled exhaust tailpipes, while solid, polished stainless steel Speed badges are found on the front fender and door tread plate areas.

All this rides on new 21-inch wheels, available in painted, polished and dark tint.

The interior features two-tone feel with new stitch lines, while Piano Black veneer panels now include expertly handcrafted carbon fibre inlays. There is a very wide selection of different materials and colours to match different tastes.

For the 2015 model year, Bentley also updated the standard model, that now comes with 505bhp and 1,020Nm of torque, while also 13% more efficient.
