Koren car maker Hyundai has been caught testing the replacement for its mid-sized SUV, the Santa Fe. And we’ve just added further spy shots to the gallery below.
The Santa Fe tops Hyundai’s range in the UK (unless you count the i800 van based people mover) and comes with a four cylinder 2.2 common rail diesel turbo, churning out 194bhp and 311lb/ft of torque. Other markets get a range of petrol engines however, ranging in size from a 2.4 to 3.7 litres.
We don’t know much about the new Santa Fe, other than it’s quite likely not to be called that — the SUV is the only car in the Hyundai range with a name rather than an ‘i’ and number based badge, so expect the new model to conform with a new ‘ix45’ moniker.
The car is expcted to debut at the end of this year go on sale in the UK early in 2012, priced from around £24,000.
