MUGEN Euro Working On A High-Performance Honda CR-Z

MUGEN Euro is developing a tuned version of Honda’s CR-Z hybrid, which will deliver “Type R-like” performance from the hybrid’s petrol-electric powertrain. This tuned hybrid could even offer better fuel economy than the stock model.

The CR-Z MUGEN will also feature lightweight components like a carbon fibre bonnet, front and rear bumpers, spoiler and MUGEN alloy wheels to reduce unsprung mass.

Sounds good, but don’t get too excited as the CR-Z MUGEN is being developed purely as a one-off prototype, with no plans for a production version. The one-off prototype will make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. For more about the project see the press release after first design sketches.
