Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S teased for Paris debut

Close to two years ago at the Paris Motor Show, Mitsubishi unveiled the Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid electric Twin Motor crossover.

This year Mitsubishi will return with the Outlander PHEV Concept-S, that is described as a special package of the Outlander PHEV production model, featuring refined interior and exterior design that “magnifies the Outlander PHEV’s unique driving experience”.

The teaser images don’t reveal much and we expect the hybrid drivetrain to carry over from the production model with no changes.

The production Outlander PHEV uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors to produce a combined 200bhp and 249 lb-ft of torque, taking the crossover from 0-62mph in 11 seconds on its way to a top speed of 106mph. Range in purely EV mode is 34 miles and average fuel economy a very impressive 143.5 mpg.
