MINI teases new Cooper with English bulldog named Spike

MINI continues to tease the next-generation Cooper, which will be unveiled first at the brand’s home on 18 November 2013, paying homage to the 107th birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis, who started a revolution with the first ever model over 50 years ago.

MINI will kick off the launch next month with debuts also at the Los Angeles and Tokyo Motor Show.

Plus TV commercials showing the new MINI together with the English bulldog, Spike, who gets to know and appreciate all the main strengths of the newest member of the British small car family. Spike even has to defend MINI against the enormously big Great Dane.

The teaser images in the gallery are mainly all about Spike, but you do get to see little more of the new MINI.

MINI recently confirmed the third-generation Cooper will get two 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbos – a 134bhp petrol with 220Nm of torque for the standard Cooper, and a 114bhp diesel with 270Nm for the Cooper D. A new 189bhp 2.0-litre petrol with 280Nm will power the Cooper S.
