Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new S 65 AMG Coupe that joins the S 63 AMG Coupe as a new top-of the range model in the S-Class Coupe series.
The highlight of the S 65 AMG Coupe is the same 621bhp 6.0-litre V12 biturbo with 738 lb-ft of torque, also found in the S 65 AMG saloon, taking the couple from 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC. There is also sports Magic Body Control suspension from the already familiar curve tilting function.
Visually the S 65 AMG Coupe is very similar to the already unveiled S 63 AMG Coupe, but a trained eye can see a shinier front grille grille, yellow brake calipers, unique 20-inch wheels wrapped around in 255/40 R 20 front and 285/35 R 20 rear tyres, new rear diffuser and “V12 BITURBO” badging.
Some of the other notable under the features include a lightweight lithium-ion battery reducing weight by around 20kg and ceramic compound brake system.
As with the four-door S 65 AMG saloon, it comes with familiar safety and luxury features like road surface scan, 360° camera
Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, Driving Assistance package Plus, PRE-SAFE Brake, BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and PRE-SAFE PLUS
Upholstery in AMG Exclusive nappa leather.
UK pricing has not been announced yet, but in Germany the S 65 AMG Coupe is already available to order, priced from 244,009.50 EUR.
