Mercedes-Benz GLA three-door coupe rendered

made its public debut last month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The GLA is based on the new A-Class platform, sharing an identical wheelbase.

Sales books open next month and first cars will arrive at dealerships in early 2014.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Mercedes-Benz decides to create a coupe-like three door GLA!

The renderings here are created by a talented Theophilus Chin showing how the new crossover could look like without the rear doors.

The GLA coupe would be shorter, with a more sloping and a lower roofline, all in the expense of rear passenger headroom and luggage space.

We like it and it would be a great alternative to the three-door Range Rover Evoque and MINI Paceman.

As far as we we know Mercedes has no such model currently in development, but that could change…
