Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG spied near the Nürburgring

At the end of last year we showed you first pictures of the hot Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG, which was caught testing in Spain.

With the arrival of Spring, the 2013 Nürburgring test season is also welcoming first prototypes near and on the Nürburgring race track. Here we have the latest pictures of the GLA 45 AMG showing this high performance compact crossover up close.

The GLA 45 AMG will use the same engine as the A45 AMG. The 360bhp 2.0-litre AMG four cylinder turbo engine will be connected to an AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission, with power sent to AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The GLA uses a new MFA modular platform that also underpins the new A-Class and CLA.

The development is still in early stages, but we expect to see new prototypes soon with less camouflage. Stay tuned!
