Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG debuts at the New York Auto Show

After numerous spy shots and leaked images Mercedes has unveiled the hot CLA 45 AMG at the New York Auto Show. The CLA 45 AMG is powered by a 360bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol with 332 lb ft of torque linked to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

This new AMG engine is the most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world with 0-62mph taking just 4.6 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 155mph and average fuel economy is 40.9mpg.

Other under the skin updates compared to the standard CLA include an AMG Performance exhaust system, AMG sports suspension with independent front and rear axle and 3-stage ESP with ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, that allows driver to vary the dynamics of the CLA 45 AMG according to his individual wishes at the push of a button.

You also see typical AMG updates to the exterior, including a new twin blade radiator grille, AMG front apron, sill panels, twin-spoke alloys, AMG rear apron and chrome-plated twin tailpipes.

There are of course numerous individualisation options available from carbon-fibre parts to optional AMG performance parts.

The CLA 45 AMG is expected to cost from around £40,000. First cars will arrive in UK in the autumn of 2013.
