Last month Mercedes introduced the new C-Class Coupe, that goes against the BMW 3 Series and Audi A5/S5. To take on the more powerful M3 and RS5, Mercedes has unveiled the new C63 AMG Coupe, that will make its world debut next month at the New York Auto Show.
Under the bonnet is a 6.2 litre V8 engine with 451bhp or 481bhp with the optional AMG Development pack. Power is sent to the rear wheels via seven-gear Speedshift MCT gearbox, taking it from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds and to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. With the optional AMG development pack 60mph comes in 4.3 seconds and the top speed is increased to 174mph.
Compared to the regular C-Class Coupe, the AMG version features a revised suspension, wider track, bigger brakes, side air vents, AMG front splitter, rear diffuser, side sill panels, twin chrome tips and five-spoke AMG alloy wheels.
Inside you’ll find the usual AMG upgrades, like a new steering wheel, sports seats, metallic trim and piano black finish on the instrument panel.
No word on the pricing yet, but expect the C63 AMG cost somewhere between £55-60k.
