Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo goes into limited production by a custom builder, based on the SLS AMG GT

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo scale model was one of the most interesting concept cars at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.

Drawing inspiration from the 300 SL racing car, the futuristic gullwing supercar features gullwing doors, LED radiator grille, long bonnet, flowing lines, compact green house and a dramatic side contour with muscular body shell.

Built for the new Gran Turismo 6 available only on the PlayStation 3, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo greared plenty of buzz and obviously there were people with deep wallets who wanted it, not in the virtual world but in real life.

Florida based J & S WORLD WIDE HOLDINGS has announced plans to build five cars now that will be based on the Mercedes SLS AMG GT.

The custom Vision Gran Turismo will have an entire body made from carbon fibre which will shave off around 100kg. TOther highlights include bespoke exhaust system, retractable rear spoiler, new ADV.1 alloy wheels, chrome paint job and a slightly modified interior.

Power will come from a 583bhp 6.3-litre V8 from the standard SLS AMG GT linked to AMG DCT Speedshift seven-speed sports transmission.

The Vision Gran Turismo concept was envisioned with a 577bhp AMG V8 biturbo engine.

The production will be limited to just five cars and reportedly one has already been sold. Two units are destined for Europe, two to the Middle East and one will be sold in the United States.

Want one? The price is 1.5M USD (£918k).
