Mercedes AMG GT will go on sale in March 2015

Mercedes-Benz has released new details about the upcoming AMG GT in the latest issue of the company’s Driving Performance magazine, saying the model will have a “muscular, never ending front” and a “staggeringly beautiful rear.”

The AMG GT rides on an aluminium space frame, making it much lighter than the outgoing SLS AMG.

Engine details are limited and most likely under the bonnet is a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 producing between 480-520bhp. Mercedes did say the unconfirmed engine is linked to a dual-clutch transmission. A more potent Black Series and also an open top spyder will follow later.

The AMG GT is Mercedes-AMG’s answer to Porsche 911 Turbo, upcoming McLaren P13 and the likes.

Whatever is under the bonnet the market launch has been confirmed for March 2015. Public debut is sometimes later this year. Most likely at the Paris Motor Show.
