McLaren reportedly planning a new P15 supercar, to slot between the 12C and P1 supercar

The hot McLaren P1 hybrid supercar, pictured above is already sold out, and the only McLaren you can currently buy is the 12C, either as a coupe or spider.

We all know an entry level P13 with 444bhp is expected to debut soon, going against the Porsche 911 Turbo.

Another more powerful model is reportedly in early stages of development, according to Autocar.

Codenamed P15, the new model will use a mid-mounted turbocharged engine, most likely a revised twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 and the
familiar carbon fibre tub chassis.

Exact specs are purely speculative at this stage, but McLaren chief executive Mike Flewitt did mention it will be different than the P13 – in its purpose and character.

While the P13 is expected to start from around £120,000, the P15 will be much more expensive with a price tag around £400,000, but still considerably cheaper than the P1 with a base price of £866,000 and more than double of the 12C, which starts at £176,000.
